Here's our all-American "recipe" for celebrating freedom around the campfire.

Pull out the checkered tablecloth! The 4th of July is almost here and it’s the best time of year for backyard campfires and barbecues.

If you’re hosting a party this year, why not keep it simple so you can relax and enjoy the fun too? We put this “recipe” together for a stress-free, all-American meal around the campfire that’s fun for everyone!

Main Course: Anything on a Stick
Whether you’re cooking on a campfire or outdoor fireplace, anything on a stick goes. This keeps things simple, since everyone can cook their own meat. Fire up the fun with bratwurst (pre-cooked works best over a fire) or good quality hot dogs. Serve them with buns and all the fixings – ketchup, mustard, relish and/or sauerkraut, and chips.

Watermelon
4th of July parties just don’t seem complete without watermelon. Cut and refrigerate slices in advance, and then pull them out when it’s time to eat.

Picnic Lemonade
There’s a simple way to make this classic summertime drink even better – add white grape juice. Make it ahead of time and serve it up cold and over ice. The kids will love it, and it doubles as an adult drink with a little vodka and a mint sprig added! Click here for the recipe from Pillsbury.

S’mores Anyone?
Kids love s’mores and adults do too! They’re a summertime staple around the campfire, and super easy since all you need are three ingredients. Everyone enjoys roasting a marshmallow and there’s nothing better than pairing it with a chocolate bar sandwiched between two graham crackers. Yum!

Make this Independence Day one to remember with a simply fun party around the fire. Happy 4th of July from all of us at Quadra-Fire!
