Benjamin Moore recently announced its 2014 Color of the Year.

Winter is time for warm fires, comfort food and painting. That’s right, we said painting. Without the distraction of warm weather activities, it’s a great season to spruce up tired rooms with a fresh coat of paint. Painting is an inexpensive DIY project that almost anyone with a little ambition, some patience, and a free weekend can do. If you have those things, all you need to do is choose a color. And Benjamin Moore can help with that.

Benjamin Moore, a most respected paint and coatings manufacturer, recently unveiled its highly anticipated Color of the Year for 2014. You’re sure to be on-trend with this one! The color, called a "Breath of Fresh Air" (color number 806), is defined by Benjamin Moore a gorgeous, ethereal blue that serves as a "new neutral" color that’s both livable and functional.

"We chose Breath of Fresh Air because we were seeing it across several different environments—it's our new neutral," said Benjamin Moore’s Creative Director Ellen O'Neill. "Our Color of the Year and Color Trends 2014 palette is a direct result of the fresh color cues and pastel trends we've seen throughout the home furnishing, fashion and even pop culture landscape."

Since colors don’t exist in isolation, Breath of Fresh Air is part of Benjamin Moore’s 2014 Color Trends collection – a palette of 23 colors that the company promises will resonate with many different styles. Check it out here.
